Do artists really need a website anymore?
We already have Instagram.
Pinterest.
LinkedIn.
YouTube.
Marketplaces.
So why bother?
I asked myself the same question.
But I realized something:
Social media shows people what you are doing.
Your website shows people who you are.
For an artist, that difference matters.
A social feed can show one painting.
A website can show the journey behind it.
The artwork.
The story.
The experience.
The teaching.
The collections.
The projects.
The person behind the work.
And most importantly, it gives people one place to find you without having to piece your creative life together from five different platforms.
That is exactly why I created Mand-V Tapes.
Not to have “another link in my bio.”
But to build a proper home for my work.
Because as artists, we spend so much time creating the work.
Sometimes we forget to create a place for people to actually discover it.
My little corner of the internet is finally open.
What do you think an artist’s website should have that social media simply can’t?
