I am a Visual Artist.

I am a Visual Artist.

But that word alone never quite covered it.

I started as a fine artist. Oils, acrylics, canvas, the whole thing. That was the beginning and honestly it is still the foundation of everything I do. But I got curious. And curiosity in a creative person is a dangerous thing in the best way.

So I picked up a camera. Explored photography. Looked at the world through a frame instead of a brush for a while.

Then I went somewhere nobody expected. Sound art. Yes. Sound. Because why not. Art is just attention. And I wanted to know what happens when you point that attention at something you cannot see.

Then came teaching. And I want to be honest about this one. I did not plan to fall in love with it. I just walked into a classroom and something happened. Watching someone make something for the first time. That look on their face. I could not walk away from that. So I stayed. For over a decade.

But classrooms have walls.
And I have been thinking lately that it is time to step outside of mine.

Not away from teaching. Never that. But beyond it. Into the world. With my work. My voice. My perspective on what art is and what it does to people.

This page is that step.

If you are a collector, a learner, a creative person somewhere in the world who thinks they might like what I make or what I teach. You are in the right place.

I am Batool Mandvi. And I am just getting started. Follow along.
