Batool Mandvi paints, teaches, and occasionally forgets to eat lunch because a shadow wasn't sitting right. Mand-v Tapes started as her sketchbook's way of getting out more — now it's where people who swore they "can't even draw a stick figure" come to be proven wrong.

Mand-v Tapes didn't start with a business plan. It started with too many half-finished paintings and one stubborn belief: that fine art shouldn't need a gallery's permission slip to matter.

Fifteen-plus years, a few thousand brushes, and one very patient BFA later, it's grown into a studio where watercolor, oil, ink, and the occasional digital detour all get equal respect — and where nobody's told their doodle isn't "real art.

A Career Built One Coat of Paint at a Time

REAL CHALK DUST

Before there was an "online presence," there was just Batool — teaching drawing and sculpture in actual classrooms, from school kids to university students, and running workshops for anyone who'd sit still long enough. Exhibitions followed, hung on real gallery walls in Pakistan, no filters involved.

GOING DIGITAL

MAND-V TAPES GOES LIVE

Then the studio walls got bigger. Batool took the same teaching — patient, hands-on, occasionally opinionated about brush pressure — and put it online. Mand-v Tapes was born, and suddenly "class" meant anyone with a screen and a willingness to mess up their first wash.

Co-authoring a watercolor instructional book published in the USA didn't slow anything down — it just added "published author" to a resume that already included teaching, commissioned work, and a slowly-multiplying international student list now sitting at 1,800+.

Why my work is worth the wall space

Not everyone can walk past it for the tenth year in a row and still stop for a second. That's the bar I hold my own work to. If it doesn't earn a second look after the first hundred, it doesn't go out.

I'll paint it to fit the room

If you're working on a space and need something made to a size, a palette, a mood tell me about the room and I'll paint for it. That's the difference between decorating a wall and finishing one.

I will teach you the way I wish someone taught me

Nobody needs to have "the talent" to sit down and paint — you need someone to show you where to start and then get out of your way. That's what my classes are.
